Philip Tummescheit
Philip Tummescheit isn’t just running to represent West Hartford—he’s running to ensure our community has a representative who genuinely listens.
A resident of West Hartford for over 13 years, Philip has grown up in the heart of this town and cares deeply about its future. Coming from a single-income family, he understands firsthand the practical economic pressures facing households today, from skyrocketing utility bills to the rising costs of everyday necessities. He believes that the state government needs to focus on common-sense solutions that keep Connecticut affordable for families, young professionals, and retirees alike.
Long before entering the political arena, Philip proved his commitment to excellence through a unique passion: classical music. An accomplished, award-winning professional pipe organist, Philip began working as a church organist at just 12 years old and has performed in celebrated local concert series like Pipes Alive! right here in West Hartford. The discipline, precision, and work ethic required to master one of the world's most complex instruments are the exact qualities Philip brings to everything he does.
Philip’s journey into public service began at the State Capitol, where he spent significant time meeting with lawmakers and testifying before legislative committees. Through this firsthand experience, he witnessed a troubling trend: too many representatives prioritize rigid, party-line voting over the actual voices and nuances of their constituent.
Philip is running for State Representative to offer a fresh alternative – someone who listens to you. He believes that a representative's first duty is to listen to their neighbors – not a political party.
