Technology can help law enforcement prevent and solve crime, and I support giving our police the tools they need to keep Connecticut communities safe. But when technology can track the movements of law-abiding citizens, we also need clear limits and accountability.

As a State Representative, I will support statewide standards for Flock cameras and automatic license plate readers that:

• Protect the privacy of law-abiding citizens

• Limit how long data can be retained

• Restrict access to authorized law enforcement personnel

• Establish clear rules for sharing information

• Require transparency and regular audits

• Hold technology vendors accountable for protecting our data

We should not have to choose between public safety and privacy. Connecticut can protect both.
